Jesús Huerta de Soto Ballester is Professor of Political Economy and one of the leading contemporary figures of the Austrian School of Economics. His academic and professional career has been marked by a firm commitment to the defense of individual liberty, the rigorous analysis of market institutions, and the dissemination of economic thought grounded in the spontaneous market order.
Throughout his career, he has carried out an extensive teaching, research, and outreach activity, contributing to the renewed interest in the Austrian tradition and in the principles that underpin an open and responsible economy. His work has promoted scientific cooperation and the study of regulation and business cycles, dynamic efficiency, the financial and monetary system, saving and social provision, as well as the liberty and development of institutional frameworks that foster prosperity and human development.
The Foundation arises from this same spirit: a space dedicated to projecting his academic work, supporting young researchers, and fostering initiatives that bring society closer to the values of a solid, humanistic economic culture, always oriented toward liberty.
