Procesos de Mercado is an academic journal founded in 2004 by Professor Jesús Huerta de Soto and co-directed and supervised by its Secretary General, Sonsoles Huerta de Soto, with the purpose of offering a rigorous and open space for intellectual debate in the fields of economics, the social sciences, and the market’s spontaneous order.

Since its inception, the journal has established itself as an international reference for the Austrian School of Economics, publishing work in English and Spanish by established researchers as well as new generations of academics seeking to develop and disseminate ideas aimed at understanding economic processes from a perspective of individual freedom, responsibility, and social cooperation.

Procesos de Mercado was created with a clear academic and outreach vocation: to facilitate the publication of original research, promote critical thinking, and contribute to the advancement of economic knowledge, especially in areas related to the market economy, the entrepreneurial function and dynamic efficiency, capital theory, the business cycle, and the institutions that emerge from free human action.

Over the years, the journal has served as a platform for intellectual dialogue, connecting researchers from different countries and academic traditions, always under criteria of scientific rigor, intellectual independence, and respect for the method and principles of the Austrian School.

In line with the Foundation’s purposes, Procesos de Mercado is a key instrument for disseminating economic thought and supporting research, contributing to the development of a freer, more prosperous society, aware of the foundations that make human progress possible.
