The Jesús Huerta de Soto Ballester Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to fostering the study, research, and dissemination of knowledge in the economic, social, and cultural spheres. Its activities focus in particular on promoting the academic study of spontaneous market order, the market economy, and the principles that underpin individual liberty.

The Foundation carries out its mission through academic, scientific, research, civic, educational, and cultural initiatives aimed at serving society as a whole and, more specifically, students, researchers, and individuals interested in understanding the economic and institutional processes that make possible a form of coexistence grounded in liberty, responsibility, and respect for the institutional framework that sustains them.

In this context, the Jesús Huerta de Soto Ballester Foundation promotes academic reflection and critical thought from the perspective of the Austrian School of Economics, encouraging the rigorous study of economic phenomena and of those institutions that make possible the development of complex modern societies. All of this is pursued with the aim of fostering sustainable prosperity and contributing effectively to the reduction of poverty and situations of human vulnerability.

The Foundation develops and supports activities in research, education, and outreach through initiatives such as publications, congresses, conferences, awards, grants, and scholarships, both through its own programs and in collaboration with public institutions (universities) and private organizations with which it shares aligned objectives and principles.

With an open and international vocation, the Foundation aspires to make a lasting contribution to the strengthening of economic culture, intellectual rigor, and academic debate, grounded in respect for liberty, individual responsibility, and voluntary social cooperation as the pillars of a prosperous and plural society.

Our principles

We believe in a society made up of individuals capable of making autonomous decisions, assuming responsibility for their consequences, and contributing to the common good through voluntary cooperation.

We promote study and research within an academic framework that values rigor, intellectual openness, and critical analysis, particularly with respect to the market economy and the spontaneous order that emerges from human action.

We understand the market as a dynamic process that facilitates social coordination and prosperity through the free interaction of individuals. We promote its study in order to better understand how lasting progress is generated for the benefit of all.

We support artistic creation, cultural dissemination, and scientific research as tools for a free, open, plural society oriented toward human progress.

Transparency

The Foundation is subject to the special tax regime provided for in Law 49/2002 of 23 December on the tax regime of non-profit entities of the Kingdom of Spain and tax incentives for patronage. This reinforces its commitment to the general interest, external oversight, and good governance, and ensures that the contributions of our benefactors achieve the greatest possible impact on society while fully complying with the applicable legal framework.

Legal Status

At the Foundation, we strengthen our commitment to transparency and sound management through a voluntary annual external audit. Our accounts and internal procedures are reviewed each year by Capital Auditors S.L., an independent auditing firm specialized in non-profit organizations, which verifies that our financial information faithfully reflects our activities and the use of resources.

Annual External Audit

Each year we publish our Annual Report so that anyone may clearly understand what we do and how we progress toward our foundational purposes. It includes a summary of the activities carried out, the projects supported, the main academic and outreach milestones, and the most relevant financial information for the year.
